The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has reduced the prices of petroleum products.
A recent Board of Directors meeting of the NOC decided to lower the price of petrol by Rs 2 per liter and diesel and kerosene by Re 1 per liter, effective from Sunday morning.
The price of domestic aviation fuel has been cut by Rs 5 per liter, while international aviation fuel prices have decreased by USD 37 per kilolitre, according to NOC sources.
The NOC has fixed different prices of fuel for different places which have been placed in three different categories considering their proximity to the border from where fuel is imported. The state-owned corporation has categorized Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalwari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj as first category areas; Surkhet and Dang as second category areas; and Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal depots as third category areas.
The prices of petrol have been fixed at Rs 160.50, Rs 162, and Rs 163 per liter in the first, second, and third category areas, respectively.
Diesel and kerosene prices have been fixed at Rs 151.50, Rs 153, and Rs 154 per liter for the same categories.
The price of domestic aviation fuel has been adjusted to Rs 132 per liter, while the price for international aviation fuel has been set at USD 1,005 per kilolitre.
Issuing a press statement, the NOC said that the price reduction reflects the new purchase prices received from Indian Oil Corporation on Saturday.
Although the purchase price of LPG has increased by Rs 35.11 per cylinder, the selling price will remain unchanged for the time being, NOC stated. -- RSS
