Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has increased the prices of petrol and diesel while reducing the price of aviation fuel, effective from 12:01 AM Wednesday, January 1, 2025.
With the latest revision, the retail prices of petrol and diesel have risen by Rs 1 per litre and Rs 2 per litre, respectively. Meanwhile, the price of aviation fuel for domestic use has been reduced by Rs 2 per litre, and for international use in Kathmandu, it has been lowered by $15 per kilolitre. However, the prices of aviation fuel for international use in Pokhara and Bhairahawa have been fixed at the break even point, according to a statement issued by NOC on Tuesday evening.
Following the adjustments, the price of petrol now stands at Rs 160.5 per litre in the first category, Rs 162 in the second category, and Rs 163 in the third category. Similarly, the price of diesel is Rs 150.5 per litre in the first category, Rs 152 per litre in the second category, and Rs 153 per litre in the third category.
NOC classifies areas within 15 km of its office or depot in Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalwari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj under the first category; in Surkhet and Dang under the second category; and in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal under the third category.
With the reduction, the price of aviation fuel for domestic sector is Rs 126 per litre, while for international carriers at Kathmandu, it is $960 per kilolitre.
