The Kaski District Court has granted police the permission to keep Rabi Lamichhane, the Chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party, in custody for ten more days. However, the latest extension, approved by the single bench of justice Chandrakanta Paudel, will be counted from October 31, according to Court's Information Officer Suraj Adhikari, reports RSS, the state-owned news agency.
Lamichhane was arrested on October 18 from his party office in Banasthali, Kathmandu for his alleged involvement in the misuse of cooperative funds.

Two days later, the court had allowed police to remand him in custody for six days , beginning from the day of his arrest.
On October 24, his detention was extended by a week . Though the extension had ended on October 30, Lamichhane was presented to the court on Tuesday, November 5 as the court had remained closed until Monday for the Tihar holidays.
