The Dry Port Customs Office in Sirsiya, Birgunj, has experienced a drop in revenue collection over the past five months compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year.
During the first five months of the current fiscal year, the office collected Rs 19.78 billion, representing 32.94 percent of its annual revenue target. In comparision, revenue collection during the corresponding period of last fiscal year stood at Rs 21.04 billion.
Office Chief Dhan Bahadur Baruwal attributed the decline to reduced exports of foreign goods. The highest monthly collection this year was recorded in Asoj (mid-September to mid-October) at Rs 4.36 billion, while the lowest was in Mangsir (mid-November to mid-December) at Rs 3.22 billion. -- RSS
