Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Seres has announced that more than 500 of its vehicles are now operating in Nepal, marking a milestone for the brand’s expansion in South Asia. The company also revealed plans to introduce three new EV models in the Nepali market by 2026.
The announcement was made during a celebration event in Kathmandu attended by Seres Sales Director David Luo, MAW Vriddhi Motors Managing Director Vivek Sikaria, and CEO Prashanna Panta. MAW Vriddhi Motors is the official distributor of Seres vehicles in Nepal.
“Reaching over 500 Seres vehicles on Nepali roads is a testament to our commitment to providing innovative and reliable EV solutions tailored for Nepal’s diverse terrains,” Sikaria said in a statement. He added that the growing consumer trust reflects both Seres’ global technology and its relevance to local conditions.
Seres, which originated in Silicon Valley and now operates in more than 70 countries, runs six factories across the United States, China, and Indonesia. It also maintains seven research and development centers in the US, China, Germany, and Japan.
In the first quarter of 2025, the Seres Group reported profits exceeding $100 million, placing it among the few Chinese automakers currently generating profits.
The company said it plans to launch three new EVs—M7, M8, and M9—by 2026, expanding its product line amid increasing global competition in the electric vehicle sector.
Seres has also received several accolades in international markets. In Indonesia, the company was recognized with three EV awards, including Favorite Car Launch and Most Affordable Car.
In Nepal, Seres gained attention for being the first EV to reach Korala Pass, one of the highest motorable passes at 4,660 meters above sea level. The company said the feat highlights the performance of its vehicles in extreme terrain.
Seres’ current model, the Seres 3, is now available in markets including Indonesia, Hong Kong, Russia, and Norway.
