The Seti Hydropower Project, located in Machhapuchchhre Rural Municipality in Kaski district, has started commercial power generation. The 25-megawatt run-of-river project began operations following the successful completion of power plant tests, interconnection procedures, and commissioning.
Jag Bahadur Pokharel, the company's chairman, stated that the electricity produced by the project has been integrated into Nepal Electricity Authority's (NEA) system. The power is transmitted to the NEA through its substation in Lahachowk village within the rural municipality.
The project, with a total cost exceeding Rs 5 billion, channels water from the Seti River at Sardhikhola's Bharabhari site to the powerhouse in Chintebagar via a 6,400-meter-long underground pipeline. -- RSS
