February 27: Bhairahawa-based Jagdamba Synthetics Pvt Ltd, a sister concern of Shanker Group, in coordination with its technological partner Starlinger & Co, organised a conference on AD*Star laminated bags and cement packaging in Kathmandu on February 23.
AD*Star bag is known as the second generation bag which was introduced by Jagdamba Synthetics in the Nepali market for the first time in 2012.
The company claimed that AD*Star bags have helped get rid of the problems like dust pollution, leakage of cement from the sack, health hazard to workers, difficulty to pile up properly and also loading and unloading.
Issuing a press statement, the company said that AD*Star bag delivers 100 percent weight of net 50 kg cement. The bag is dust free, moisture free, water proof, environment friendly and is recyclable. Normal cement bags have three months of life period but cement in AD*Star bag has more than 3 to 4 months of life until it gains moisture, the company said.
The company claimed that the leading cement industries are using AD*Star bag because of all these advantages. According to the company, Jagdamba Cement, Arghakhanchi Cement, Sarbottam Cement and Agni Cement, who are the leaders in country’s cement industry, have been using this bag.
The conference was attended by guests from all over the country as well as from Austria, Italy, India, Bangladesh and China.
Chief guest AK Jha, executive director of Indian Oil Corporation, inaugurated the conference in the presence of Sulav Agarwal, vice chairman of Shaker Group; Leander Huemer from Starlinger & Co; Biswo Babu Pudasaini, executive director of Nepal Bureau of Standard and Metrology; and Rajesh Agrawal, general manager of Jagdamba Cement.
