February 13: Air service, the only means of transport to and from Humla, has resumed from Tuesday after a gap of almost a week.
According to CDO Madhav Prasad Dhungana, the Simikot Airport has come into operation from February 12 five days after being closed due to the snow piled up in the runway following heavy snowfall.
According to Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS), the snow piled up in the airport was removed at the joint effort of Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force.
Aircraft belonging to various airline companies have resumed regular flights from Tuesday afternoon.
