Humla district experienced significant snowfall starting Monday night, disrupting daily life across the district.
According to Chief District Officer Narayan Pandey, Simkot, the district headquarters, recorded up to two inches of snow accumulation, while higher areas, including northern Namkha Rural Municipality, witnessed snowfall of up to one foot.
The snowfall has intensified cold, restricting movement and affecting normal life in several villages, including Limi, Yari, Halji, Til, and Hilsa. Temperatures in Simkot have dropped below freezing point, while the southern parts of the district are experiencing rainfall.
Chief District Officer Pandey has advised the elderly and children to take necessary precautions against the cold and warned residents of nearby settlements to remain vigilant about potential avalanches. -- RSS
