The 38th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Limited was held on December 10, 2024, at the Army Officers Club in Bhadrakali, Kathmandu. The meeting was chaired by Zarin Daruwala, Chairperson of the Bank.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday, the bank recorded an operating profit of Rs 4.7 billion for the fiscal year 2023/24. “The Bank achieved an underlying profit after tax of Rs 3.3 billion,” the statement reads. “The Return on Equity of 19.0 percent and Earning Per Share of Rs 34.7 this FY for Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Limited, remains the highest in the industry.”
As recommended by the Board of Directors, the bank has declared a 19 percent cash dividend and a 6.5 percent stock dividend on its paid-up capital, totaling a 25.5 percent dividend for the year.
Chairperson Daruwala expressed gratitude to the Bank’s investors, clients, regulators, employees, and stakeholders for their continued support. She highlighted the Bank’s pride in being the only international bank in Nepal, contributing to the country’s economic development since its establishment in 1987.
Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Limited’s ownership is divided between Standard Chartered Group, which holds 70.21 percent of shares, and the general public, which holds 29.79 percent.
