Elon Musk's SpaceX-owned satellite internet service Starlink has officially launched in Bangladesh, offering unlimited data with speeds reaching up to 300 Mbps.
In a post on its X account on Tuesday, Starlink made the announcement saying "Starlink's high-speed, low-latency internet is now available in Bangladesh!"
Bangladeshi Chief Adviser's Special Assistant for the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb wrote in a Facebook post: "Starlink has officially launched operations in Bangladesh."
Taiyeb noted that although relatively expensive, Starlink now provides a sustainable, high-quality, and high-speed internet option for premium users.
Additionally, in areas where fiber or fast internet is still unavailable, this service creates new opportunities for businesses to expand and ensures uninterrupted, year-round high-speed internet access for non-governmental organizations, freelancers, and entrepreneurs, he said. – Xinhua/RSS
