Rabi Khadka Wins Ghanashyam Open Golf

Rabi Khadka has won the Ghanashyam Open Golf Championship, the second event under the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2013-14 played at the par- 67 Royal Nepal Golf Club on Thursday.

 

Defending champion Khadka carded even-par 67 at his home club course for a total of one-over 269 to register one-stroke victory over Dhana Thapa of Tribhuvan Army Officers Golf Club. With the pay cheque of Rs 55,000 and trophy, Khadka claimed his seventh career title. Dhana faltered to four-over 71 to finish second at two-over 270, while Umesh Nagarkoti of Gokarna Golf Club came third at 271 after carding three-under 64. Out of the total cash purse of Rs 300,000, Dhana received Rs 37,000, while Umesh earned Rs 29,000.

 

In Amateur section, Tashi Tsering registered a three-stroke victory over Tirtha Paudel. Tashi, who was six-shot ahead going into the final round, played four-over 71 for a total of 276, while Paudel carded three-under 64 for a total of 279. Top amateur Dinesh Prajapati finished third at 283 after playing the round of five-over 72.

 

The third event under the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2013- 14 Surya Nepal Central Open will be held at the Gokarna Golf Club from June 24.
