Bhattarai ‘Gives Up’ The Vice-Chairman’s Post

The UCPN-Maoist senior leader Dr Baburam Bhattarai on Saturday announced his resignation from the post of Vice Chairman of the party. He said the decision was made to build a culture of sacrifice inside the party and promote a new generation. Despite stepping down from the post, the former prime minister said that he would continue to engage in the party and its activities. Meanwhile, the UCPN (Maoist) on June 30 began discussion on the announcement of resignation by party Vice Chairman Bhattarai.
