Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) organized ‘Naturally Nepal Evening’ at New Delhi on 30 Aug 2013, a programme focused towards press and tour operators. Subash Niroula, Acting Chief Executive Officer, NTB expressed that by organizing such kind of programmes, NTB is looking at actively promoting Nepal in India. He viewed ‘Naturally Nepal Evening’ as a platform to reinforce and build relationships with prospective and current Indian partners. He further reiterated that Nepal is looking to tap the Indian market by being more reachable, regular and proactive with the Indian travel trade and media as well.
Bishnu Prasad Lamsal, Minister (Economic), Nepal Embassy in India said that the event has created a platform to discuss on tourism prospects between Nepal and India and further strengthen economic diplomacy. On the occasion, Subash Goyal, President of Indian Association of Tour Operators opined that Nepal has tremendous advantages in terms of non-requirement of visa, easily acceptable currencies, similar culture and no language barriers.
The Nepalese private sector tour operators opined that participation at this particular programme provided them with a number of inquiries for Nepal and they hope they can convert the same to strong business ties.
Other dignitaries in the event included Yogesh Srivastav, Senior Secretary of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, India; Gour Kanjilal, Executive Director of Indian Association of Tour Operators and Kumkum Manaktala, Head of Tourism -Confederation of Indian Industry.
