Tashi Tsering has won the Qatar Airways Open Golf Tournament by scoring 38 stableford points at Gokarna Golf Club on Saturday. Charlee Gurung, playing of 4 handiap was one stroke adrift of Tashi, with 37 points to finish runner-up. Tashi playing of 1 handicap scored three under with an eagle on third hole and birdie on sixth hole and accumulated 22 points. On the back nine, he made a sole birdie on 15th hole against bogeys on 10th, 13th and 18th holes for 16 points. Charlee scored a single bogey on front nine on the seventh hole for 20 points. On the back nine, he made birdie on the 16th hole against bogeys on 17th & 18th hole and double-bogey on the 13th hole.
Rekha Ghimire won the ladies title with 32 points and Puspa Rai finished second in the category with 26 points. Tsultrim Lama was senior winner -- above 60 years -- with 32 points.
Tenzing Tsering won the junior's title with 24 points in 9 holes. Suryansh Chaudhary finished second in juniors with 22 points. Suhrid Ghimire won the closest to the pin award on 10th hole as his shot finished within a foot from the hole.
The tournament was played under stableford format with 3/4 handicap. Country Manager of Qatar Airways, Ramdas Shivram, President of Gokarna Golf Club Suhrid Ghimire gave away the prizes to the winners.
