NEPSE Posts Gain of 54.04 Points, Closes at 2364.63

July 17: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index experienced a substantial increase of 54.04 points, or 2.33%, closing at 2364.63 on the fourth trading day of the week, Wednesday.

Investor sentiment has been optimistic and upbeat, bolstered by the formation of a new government by the alliance of the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML. This political development has instilled confidence among investors. A seasoned investor in the stock market stated that the positive sentiment is expected to continue for some time.

During today's trading session, 306 scrips were traded through 149,681 transactions on NEPSE. A total of 32,095,937 units of shares were exchanged, resulting in a total turnover of Rs 12.5 billion.

Singati Hydro Energy Limited (SHEL) led the turnover with total transactions amounting to Rs 23 crores. Central Finance Limited (CFCL) achieved the highest gain of 10%, closing at a market price of Rs 603 per share. On the other hand, Citizens Fund 2 (CMF2) incurred the highest loss of 9.90%.

All sector indices closed in positive territory. The Trading Index, Hotels and Tourism Index, and Finance Index recorded the highest gains of 7.30%, 5.55%, and 5.50% respectively. The Mutual Fund Index posted the smallest gain at 0.08%.
