BPC Upgrading Andhikhola Project

 

 

     Butwal Power Company (BPC) is upgrading  the power generation capacity of Andhikhola Hydroelectricity Project in Syangja. BPC is adding 4.3 Megawatt (MW) to the current 5.1 MW powerhouse. According to the company, the preparations are in the final stage.

 

The company is investing Rs 800 million for the upgrade for which the construction works are to start shortly, according to the company.  

      However, the local people have been protesting the program complaining that the company did not take their consent for the project.
