“If there is anarchy in the financial system, it must be curtailed.” -

Dr Yubraj Khatiwada, Governor, Nepal Rastra Bank, reacting to a comment that the central bank is steadily going for a controlled system.   

“Our job is to check whether the account presented by the firm is accurate, but not to check the authenticity of the VAT bills presented.” -

Sunir Kumar Dhungel, President, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN) reacting to the allegation of the Inland Revenue Department that some Chartered Accountants, by approving VAT bills, helped business firms evade VAT.

“The method of fixing the minimum wage in Nepal is unscientific.” -

Meghnath Neupane, Director General, Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI), arguing that the demand of the workers for wage hike at present is unrealistic as the productivity has not increased. 

“It is now time for the FNCCI leadership to come from outside the capital city so as to facilitate balanced development of businesses in all the districts.” -
