Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to conduct election of its parliamentary leader. NC’s central committee meeting on January 18 took the decision to form a three-member election organizing committee led by party spokesperson Dilendra Prasad Badu.
The other two members of the committee are central Ramesh Rijal and Ramchandra Tiwari.
NC President Sushil Koirala, Senior Leader Sher Bahadur Deuba and Vice President Ramchandra Poudel are contesting for the post of the party’s parliamentary party (PP) leader. The PP leader will be named as the NC’s candidate for the post of prime minister.
Among the top three leaders, NC President Koirala has relatively strong grip inside the party. Despite this, the election is going to be held in order to demonstrate a democratic practice inside the party, it is learnt.
