KFC's Kathmandu outlets reopen

September 14: Devyani International has reopened its KFC outlets in Kathmandu following an agreement with its employees.

KFC's Durbar Marg and Thapathali outlets had been shut since May, after the local franchisee said it could no longer deal with labour union problems. Devyani International's Director Santosh Jha said the outlets were reopened after the management and the labour unions agreed to resolve differences through talks.

Local franchisee Devyani International has been running KFC and Pizza Hut outlets in Durbar Marg since 2009, and in Thapathali since 2013. However, no announcement has been made regarding the reopening of the Pizza Hut outlets.
