Protestors resort to vandalism in Bara-Parsa corridor

September 15: Two people have been arrested after protestors resorted to vandalism in Bara-Parsa Industrial Corridor on Tuesday.

According to police, protestors pelted stones at over a dozen factories, and set fire to a truck in the area. Terai Madhes Loktantrik Party General Secretary Jitendra Sonal is among the protestors arrested, said Area Police Office, Simara.

At around 9 am, motorcycle-borne protestors vandalised offices of Nimbus Group, Narayani Cement, Chawasoti Mill and Saurav Enterprises. At Saurav Enterprises, five trucks were vandalised—one of them was set ablaze. Local industrialists said protestors have warned them not to run the factories during the period of the strike called by the Madhesi Morcha.
