Belahiya transit closed since today morning

October 21: The Belahiya transit on the Nepal-India border has been closed since today morning after some Nepali youths reportedly thrashed two Indian persons on Tuesday evening.

The transit, which saw restrictions earlier by Indian side on the passage of vehicles carrying goods and cargo, resumed some days ago.

As a result, Nepal-bound vehicles carrying cargo have not been allowed passage, while only people returning to Nepal have been allowed to enter the border.

After the incident, security personnel of both the countries have tightened security in the area, it has been said. RSS
