November 9: The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has increased the fare of domestic air flights by almost two fold in the wake of the acute shortage of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF).
The decision to hike domestic flights fare will be effective from Tuesday as the ATF price has also surged as NOC is forced to transport the aviation fuel from air route in the backdrop of the continuing Indian government's undeclared blockade at the border.
The existing rate of ATF per litre which stood at Rs 118 has now climbed almost two fold to be traded at Rs 233, said NOC. A meeting of the Airlines Operators' Association of Nepal took the decision to hike the fare following the increment in the fuel price, Simrik Air's Marketing Manager Prajwal Thapa told National News Agency (RSS).
NOC has said the fare of domestic air flights will return to normal once the supply of ATF resumes from land route. RSS
