A promotional program entitled ‘Chaliye Pokhara’ was held in four cities of India. The Western Regional Hotel Association Pokhara in partnership with Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) organized programs in Kanpur, Lucknow, Varanasi and Sonauli with a view to trigger more visits of Indian tourists to the beautiful lake city of Pokhara.
The 27 member delegation from Nepal kicked off this five day promotional tour in Kanpur on March 27. “The Lucknow leg of the program on March 28 was participated in by three Uttar Pradesh Ministers where each of them expressed solidarity and strong support for cross-border tourism and commitment towards expanding its scope,” says the NTB in a press statement.
According to the NTB, Each leg combined a B2B session and media briefing and special incentives and packages were also proposed in targeting the imminent summer holiday season in India. Udaya Bhattarai represented Nepal Tourism Board in the program with the other participants comprised of Pokhara and Siddharthnagar based tourism entrepreneurs and media.
