April 15: Nepal Telecom has started the upgradation of its 3G mobile service in different locations of Dhaulagiri zone of Western Deveoplment region. The qualitatively improved 3G mobile service has been started in the region with 21 Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) by adding 5 BTS which was previously 16.
The 3G network has been upgraded in Baglung Bazar of Baglung, Kusma of Parbat, Beni of Myagdi and Jomsom of Mustang. Additionally the service has been started in Kaisang Camp of Mustang, Pulchaur of Myagdi, Patichaur and Durlung Gaun of Parbat and Bihukot, Dahapani, Thana, Hatiya, Harichaur, Bhairabstan, Burtibang and Argal VDC of Baglung district.
Under the 3G service, Nepal Telecom is providing voice and video chat, high speed internet facility apart from voice call services.“ Users can downlaod data at 14 mb/sec and upload data at 5.7 mb/sec,” informs Dilli Ram Adhikari, Sub-Spokesperson of NTC. “We expect that our users will benefit more from this sort of quality upragrading steps of the company,” adds Adhikari.
According to the company, the service has been extended to different cities and rural areas, outside the Kathmandu Valley as a part of its plan to upgrade, expand and strengthen 3G service in cities and other areas across the country.
