May 11: Janata Bank has started branchless banking in four VDCs of Darchula District. The bank has started branchless banking services in collaboration with Sakhchyam Access to Finance under UKAID. Janata Bank is operating Sakhchyam Access to Rural Banking Project in collaboration with Sakhchyam Project. Under the project, the bank is planning to start 50 branchless banking services in the next three years.
As per the press release of the bank, the services has been started to end the hardship of local people in getting banking services. The branchless banking service will enable locals in getting secure and convenient banking services within their locality.
