May 18: Nepal International Gem and Jewelry Expo will be held in Kathmandu from Friday. According to the organizers, the expo aims to promote export of Nepali ornaments, originality of handicrafts, diversity along with exposing special abilities of Nepali jewelers to national and international levels. The expo will be jointly organised by Federation of Handicraft Association of Nepal, Federation of Nepal Gold Silver Gem and Jewelry Association and ‘Nepal Gem and Jewelry Council’ promoted by Federation of Nepal Gold Silver Dealers’ Association.
The organizers informed that there will be 59 stalls in the expo with 53 domestic and remaining six foreign. Similarly, India’s Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council, Gemological Institute of America operating in India and The New Jewelers Magazine will be supporting promotional and technical knowledge.
According to organisers, valuable ornaments, jewelries and handicraft along with gems, modern machineries, ornamental watch will be showcased in the expo.
The expo will also include a jewelry related seminar, gem cutting, polishing, finishing and ‘live demonstration’ and a fashion show as additional attraction.
