May 29: Smart Telecom is expanding its service area. “Within few weeks, the company will expand its service to Kathmandu, Pokhara, Nepalgunj, Birgunj and Chitwan,” informed Pawan Shakya, communication head of the company. He added “We will expand our service by adding more towers within some weeks.” Currently, Smart is providing services in nearly 34 districts.
The company which started its services in June 2008 after getting rural telecommunication license from Nepal Telecommunication Authority received integrated telecommunication license in April 2013.
Currently, the company is providing services to around 1.4 million customers.
