International Seminar on Food Security Commence

June 1:  The international seminar on food security has started in Kathmandu. The program will be held from June 1-3.  For the first time, Global Civil Society is organising the seminar with an objective to achieve sustainable development. Around 150 participants including government representatives and civil societies of Nepal and other various countries are attending the seminar.  It has been informed that 40 percent of the participants will be from Nepal and 60 percent from foreign countries such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and Myanmar.

“The seminar will be focused on addressing issues on global food security that may arise in coming decade," informs Dr Sarba Raj Khadka, Executive Director of  Rural Reconstruction Nepal(RRN)." At the end of the seminar, a task plan will be formulated that will address issues regarding food security and hunger by identifying public priorities of national and international levels," he added.
