June 13: The hydropower project with 16.26MW capacity is to be constructed in Liping Khola located at Taatopani of Sindhupalchowk district. The project in Liping Khola near the border between Nepal and China is being constructed by Him River Power Company. According to Ram Kaji Poudel, Director of the project, the Power Purchase agreement (PPA) has already been finalised with Nepal Electricity Authority. The construction process of the project will soon be started with domestic capital and resources.
The project is predicted to cost Rs 3 billion that is aimed to be completed till April 2020. The company informs that investment will be accumulated through 70 percent of bank loan and 30 percent of equity share. The electricity produced from the project will be connected to national transmission line through the sub-station at Lamo Sangu. The company believed that the construction of the project will complete on time as it is associated with people who have already built various other projects. The company also expects to generate electricity in winter season due to availability of glacier and sufficient water sources.
