Adventure Tourism Guide Training Starts

June 15: A eight-day training of adventure tourism guides has started in Kathmandu. Jointly organized by Trekking Agency Association of Nepal (TAAN) and Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA), USA, the training is being held at the central office of TAAN in Maligaun.

According to Karna Lama, General Secretary of TAAN, the training aims to enhance skills of the guides to develop Nepal as a destination of adventure tourism. “The expert foreign trainer will provide trainings on adventure tourism, security and risks, group management, skills to explain historical heritage and emergency first-aid treatment,” informs TAAN in a press statement. Sital Chandra Dharel, the coordinator of the program, residential training to the trainees will be provided at Shivapuri National Park.
