Production and Sales distribution of Lollipop banned

June 21: Department of Food Technology and Quality Control has banned the production and distribution of lollipops available in the Nepali market that use plastic tube. According to the department, a shiny chemical that harms the customers was found inside the tube. Therefore, Department of Food Technology and Quality Control has banned the  production and sales distribution of such lollipops. It also has requested customers not to buy such lollipops.

Issuing a press release the department informed that the production and sales distribution of lollipop produced by Asian Biscuit and Confectionery Dubahi, Sunsari was banned.

The department informed that the investigation was conducted after National Consumer Forum informed of finding health hazard chemical in the plastic tube of the lollipop.
