MEX Nepal Starts Eggs Delivery

June 26: Mercantile Exchange Nepal (MEX) has announced the launch of delivery of fresh hen eggs. The eggs are symbolised as EGGL and EGGM. According to MEX Nepal, EGGL stands for large sized egg while EGGM denotes as medium sized ones. The launching marks the first agro product with delivery logic.

The Exchange, issuing a press statement, states that the addition of the agricultural products in the online platform as a milestone that re-establishes the core objective of a commodity exchange. The Exchange already has a lineup of deliverable products such as 10 gram gold, 20 kg and one kg silver.

“MEX Nepal has partnered with New Bhairab Poultry Firm situated at Dumkibaas, Nawalparasifor this product which is available in two varieties -fresh hen egg large and fresh hen egg medium,” reads the statement. According to the Exchange, the deliverable egg is available in a box containing seven crates with 30 eggs in each crate. Large and medium eggs are categorized on the basis of weight of each box. “The quality of egg is assured with no cracks and broken eggs, no blood and meat spots. Customers can initiate their position with a very low margin amount for these contracts,” informs the Exchange.
