June 28: The 9th annual general meeting of Nepal-Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce and Industries concluded electing Ramesh Maharjan as the Chairman. The AGM of Nepal-Sri Lanka CCI also elected 19-members Executive Committee under Maharjan’s leadership.
W.M. Senevirathna, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Nepal formally inaugurated the AGM. Speaking at AGM, Senevirathna informed that the embassy would help in maintaining smooth relationship in social and economic sector between Nepal and Sri Lanka.
Issuing the press release, CCI informed that the main priority is given to the trade and investment, tourism promotion, organising trade fair and participation, meeting and interaction for promotion of economic relationship between the two countries.
In an Executive Committee, Dr. Rajesh Kaji Shrestha is elected an honorable member, Bhakta Bahadur Malla as Former Chairman, Pravin Bahadur Pandey, Bijay Shrestha and Hemraj Dhakal as vice-president. Similarly, Naresh Das as Joint Secretary, Dr. Harish Joshi as a Treasurer, Prakasg Giri and Ram Raja Acharya are being elected as Secretary. Likewise, Siva Kumar Agrawal, Anuj Mani Timilsina, Prakash Pandey, Syambhu Ratna Tuladhar, Sanjay Kumar Agrawal, Shyam Bhakta Kayastha, Tek Bahadur Shakya, Bidhya Sagar Tamrakar and Surya Bahadur Thapa are elected as members.
The Nepal-Sri Lanka CCI was established in 2006 with an objective of joint contributing from private sectors to improve the economic and trade relationship between Nepal and Sri Lanka.
