Nepal- India IGC Meeting Starts

June 28:  Inter Governmental Committee (IGC) Meeting, led by Commerce Secretaries of Nepal and Indian government, has started from June 28. The meeting of the IGC is being hosted by India on 28-29 June 2016 at New Delhi. According to the issued press statement, the meetings of the Committee will provide a platform to review bilateral trade issues.  

The last meeting of IGC was held on 21-22 December 2013 at Kathmandu. As per the press release, the Indian delegation would be led by Ms. Rita Teaotia, Commerce Secretary, Government of India while the Nepali delegation would be led by Mr. Naindra Prasad Upadhaya, Commerce Secretary, Government of Nepal. The meeting is expected to resolve various trade related issues and discuss enhancement of the bilateral trade between the two countries.
