KATHMANDU, August 16: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has slashed the prices of petroleum products. A meeting of the Board of Directors of the state-owned oil monopoly on Thursday took a decision to cut down the fuel prices effective from Friday, August 16.
As per the decision, the price of petrol has been slashed by Rs 5 per litre, while the prices of diesel and kerosene have been reduced Rs 3 per litre each.
With the adjusted price, petrol per litre now costs Rs 162 for the first category, Rs 164 for the second category, and Rs 165 for the third category.
The first category includes areas such as Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalbari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi and Birgunj which are near to the India border. The second category includes Surkhet and Dang while Dipayal, Pokhara, and Kathmandu fall under the third category.
Similarly, the adjusted price of diesel and kerosene per litre has been fixed at Rs 152 for the first category, Rs 158 for the second category and Rs 155 for the third category, according to NOC.
