Domestic flights at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) have been affected today (Tuesday) due to adverse weather and low visibility, particularly affecting flights to Pokhara and Bharatpur. Despite these challenges, international flights continue as scheduled, according to TIA General Manager Jagannath Niraula.

Flights to other domestic airports in the hill districts have also faced disruptions. Buddha Air's information officer, Dipendra Kumar Karna, stated that they are awaiting improved visibility to resume operations on the Pokhara and Bharatpur routes.

The country is currently experiencing the effects of monsoon winds. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the monsoon trough is slightly north of its usual position, leading to scattered to widespread rainfall across the country. Heavy rainfall is expected in a few locations in Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces, with isolated heavy showers in other provinces as well. -- RSS
