Nepal into Semi-finals of U-20 SAFF Championship

Nepal entered the semi-finals of the U-20 SAFF Men's Football Championship underway in the capital on Tuesday by the virtue of points earned in the group stage.    
Nepal booked a place in the semi-finals with one match to spare after Bangladesh defeated Sri Lanka on Tuesday. Bangladesh defeated Sri Lanka 2-0 in the match held at the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) Complex in Satdobato, Lalitpur.    
Earlier, Nepal had defeated Sri Lanka 1-0 in the opening match and secured three points in Group 'A'. With the latest defeat, Sri Lanka is out of the tournament.    
For Bangladesh, Mirazul Islam and Piyesh Ahmed Nova scored one goal each.    
Nepal will play the final match of the group stage against Bangladesh under Group A on August 22.    
The Maldives will face Bhutan in the same venue on Wednesday. -- RSS
