Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Ramnath Adhikari has announced that the names of individuals who have received substantial subsidies and grants from the ministry but have failed to utilize them properly will be made public.

Speaking to the media at the ministry on Tuesday, Minister Adhikari highlighted that the Ministry of Agriculture has distributed billions of rupees in subsidies over the last five to seven years, and the detailed list will be disclosed within a few days.

"There is a significant gap between the Ministry of Agriculture and the actual farmers," he said, adding that he is working to close that gap.

The Agriculture Minister also mentioned efforts to ensure payments to sugarcane and dairy farmers.

"Since I assumed office, Rs 2.5 million has been disbursed to dairy farmers," he stated, adding, "Efforts are ongoing to settle the remaining dues."

On a different note, Adhikari acknowledged the public's growing disenchantment with political parties and emphasized that the current alliance between the Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) must work to restore public enthusiasm. "There is no way to shy away from our responsibility," he affirmed.

He also encouraged media persons to highlight any mistakes he might make, assuring them that he would accept such feedback positively. -- RSS
