The National Assembly on Thursday endorsed the bill related to transitional justice without any revision.

The Upper House unanimously supported the motion put forward by Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Ajay Kumar Chaurasiya to endorse the bill to amend the Disappearances Enquiry, Truth and Reconciliation Commission Act.

Earlier on August 14, the House of Representatives had passed the bill.

Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal informed the National Assembly meeting on Thursday about the clause-wise discussion on the proposal and stated that no amendment proposal was registered over the proposal.

Discussions on the proposal were held on the basis of political parties represented in the Upper House.

After the approval, the National Assembly has returned the bill to the HoR  as it originated in the Lower House.

Then, the bill needs to be ratified by the president to become law.
