Avalanche Blocks Rivulet in Mustang

An avalanche from the base of Dhaulagiri mountain at Thasang Rural Municipality-2, Mustang blocked the Bokse Rivulet on Friday afternoon.
 
The rivulet is a tributary of the Kaligandaki River.

Gautam Sherchan, Ward Chair of the rural municipality, said that the water level in the Bokse rivulet declined downstream after the blockade.

“The avalanche occurred at 1:30 pm and piled up in the rivulet, blocking the water current," Sherchan added.

District Administration Office, Mustang, through a notice, have cautioned people living downstream and near the river banks to stay safe.

Chief District Officer Janak Raj Pant informed that a team of armed police force had been mobilized to the affected area.
