Listed Companies Lack Good Governance: SEBON Chairman

July 28: Dr Rewat Bahadur Karki, Chairman of Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) has stressed a need for good governance in the companies listed in the stock market. He made such remarks during a program organized on July 27. Dr Karki said that the market has been affected due to the insider trading. "Leakage of confidential information is posing risks to small investors." He suggested the investors to have proper knowledge about the market and the companies before investing. According to him, leakage of information such as company data, bonus and dividends before they are made public benefits some investors who have access to information of the companies.
