Flights have returned to normal across Iran, reported Al Jazeera, citing the country’s Civil Aviation Organisation (CAO).
“Jafar Yazarlou, the spokesman of the CAO, told state media that flights would resume from 9 am local time (05:30 GMT), coming shortly after the Israeli military confirmed that its overnight attacks on Iran had concluded,” says the news report. “Neither Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran nor other airports were subjected to any attacks.”
Iran had earlier cancelled all flights until further following Israeli attacks at several positions in its three provinces.
Iranian state media citing Iran's air defence force, said the attacks caused limited damage in some locations and the dimensions of the incident were under investigation.
Tasnim news outlet citing informed sources reported that Iran is ready to respond to Israeli aggression, "as previously stated", adding that "Iran reserves its right to respond to any form of aggression, and there is no doubt that Israel will receive a proportional reaction to any action taken."
Earlier, Israel Defence Force spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari released a video hours after the Israeli strike and affirmed that Israel had achieved its objectives, adding "that those who threaten Israel will pay a heavy price."
Further, Hagari cautioned that if Iran initiates another round of escalation, Israel will respond accordingly. "If the regime in Iran were to make the mistake of beginning a new round of escalation, we will be obligated to respond."
Several countries, including the United States, have urged Iran not to retaliate further in order to break the cycle of violence.
