August 4: The interaction program between of Nepal-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Chengdu Association of Foreign Economic and Trade Co-operation has been concluded in the valley. The interaction program was conducted between the NCCCI and 16 Chinese trade delegates led by Chen Xiao, General Secretary of the Association regarding economic, trade and investment expansion.
Rajesh Kaji Shrestha, President of NCCCI has requested the visiting Chinese trade delegates to invest in Nepal in the sectors including hydropower, tourism and agriculture. He also urged them to avail the exhibition hall for the exhibition of Nepali handicraft products in upcoming trade fair which will be held in Chengdu.
According to Xiao, Chief of the delegation, the construction of new airport in Chengdu will increase tourist arrival to and from China. He opined that investment and trade will also increase along with the tourists. He said “Chinese investors are interested of investing in hydropower, tourism and electronic goods and production sectors.” He urged Nepali traders to participate in upcoming trade fair in Chengdu as well.
