The government has authorized the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation to resolve the disputes over power tariffs for users of the dedicated feeder and trunk lines.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers held at the official residence of the Prime Minister on Sunday evening gave permission to the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation to release the report prepared by the Girish Chandra Lal commission, according to Minister for Communications and Information Technology and Government Spokesperson Prithvi Subba Gurung.
The cabinet meeting also decided to ensure power supply within 24 hours to the industries affected by disruptions linked to tariff disagreements. The Council of Ministers took such a decision considering that the power interruptions have impacted the economy by limiting industrial production, reducing revenue collection, and affecting job creation.
Additionally, the Cabinet decided that industries must clear outstanding power tariff bills related to dedicated feeder and trunk lines within 15 days. -- RSS
