Karnali Yaks claimed its second consecutive victory in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) on Saturday, December 7, defeating Biratnagar Kings by 7 runs. Defending a modest target of 134, the Yaks restricted the Kings to 126/8 in 20 overs, with Biratnagar batters unable to hit boundaries in the final two overs.
Nandan Yadav spearheaded Karnali’s bowling attack, taking three wickets for 19 runs in four overs. Bipin Yadav chipped in with two wickets, while Sompal Kami, William Bosisto, and Unish Thakuri claimed one each.
Biratnagar’s Nicholas Kirton was the top scorer with 40 runs off 39 balls.
Earlier, Bosisto's 66 off 49 balls and opener Dev Khanal’s 53 off 48 helped the Yaks reach 133, despite losing five batters for ducks. Pratish GC took four wickets for Biratnagar, while Chris Sole and Basir Ahmad claimed two each.
Bosisto was named Player of the Match for his all-round performance. Karnali now sits fourth in the standings with four points from four matches, while Biratnagar lingers second-last with two points.
On Sunday, December 8, Sudurpaschim Royals and Janakpur Bolts, both undefeated, aim to extend their streaks in separate matches. The Bolts will face winless Lumbini Lions, while the Royals take on third-placed Chitwan Rhinos.
