Kaski Police Submit Investigation Report on Rabi Lamichhane to District Government Attorney

Monday, December 16, marks the RSP Chair’s 60th day in custody for investigations into alleged cooperative fraud, involvement in organised crime and money laundering

The Kaski District Police on Monday, December 16, submitted their investigation report on Rabi Lamichhane, Chairperson of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), to the District Government Attorney’s Office.  

The date also marked Lamichhane's 60th day in custody, during which he has been under investigation for allegations of cooperative fraud, involvement in organized crime, and money laundering.

Lamichhane was initially arrested on October 18 from the RSP office in Banasthali, Kathmandu, and subsequently transported to Pokhara for investigation.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Basanta Sharma confirmed to the state-owned news agency, RSS, that the report was officially submitted. The latest court-mandated extension of Lamichhane’s custody ends on Monday as the district's court on Thursday, December 12, had granted police permission to detain him for additional five days.
