A key section of the Nagdhunga-Naubise road, one of the main gateways to Kathmandu Valley, was closed to vehicles for four and a half hours  Saturday, May 24.

The closure, from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM, affected the Piplamod stretch and will continue until June 8 to allow construction work, according to the Narayangarh-Mugling Road Project (Eastern Section).

During this period, vehicles leaving Kathmandu will be held at Nagdhunga, while incoming traffic will be stopped at Khanikhola.

Traffic police have advised travelers to use alternative routes such as Dharke–Sitapaila or Tokha–Chahare–Trishuli–Galchi to avoid delays.
