Bangladesh to Unveil National Budget for FY 2025/26 on June 2

The Bangladeshi interim government is set to unveil next week a 7.90-trillion-taka (nearly USD 65 billion) national budget for the 2025/26 fiscal year starting in July.

Finance Adviser Salehuddin Ahmed will present the budget on June 2, according to a government handout on Thursday.

In the absence of a sitting National Parliament, the budget will be enacted through a presidential ordinance, accompanied by a televised speech from the finance adviser.

This is the first national budget presented under the interim administration led by Muhammad Yunus.

The GDP growth target for fiscal 2025/26 has been set at 5.5 percent, reflecting cautious optimism amid global and domestic economic uncertainties.
