NOC Slashes Petrol Price, Diesel and Kerosene Rates Hiked

Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has revised the prices of petroleum products, lowering the rate of petrol while increasing the prices of diesel and kerosene. The new rates have come into effect from Friday, August 1.

According to the state-run oil monopoly, the price of petrol has been reduced by Re 1 per liter. In contrast, the price of diesel and kerosene has been increased by Rs 2 per liter. The price of aviation turbine fuel for domestic flights has gone up by Rs 3 per liter, while the rate for international flights has been raised by USD 21 per kiloliter.

As per the updated pricing, domestic aviation fuel will be priced at Rs 128 per liter, NOC said in a statement issued on Thursday evening. The price of liquefied petroleum (LP) gas for cooking remains unchanged.

Similarly, with the revised rates, petrol will now cost Rs 156.5 per liter in Category I areas, Rs 158 in Category II, and Rs 159 in Category III. Diesel and kerosene will be priced at Rs 147.5 per liter in Category I, Rs 149 in Category II, and Rs 150 in Category III.

NOC classifies its fuel distribution into three categories based on location. Category I includes areas within a 15-kilometer radius of its major depots and offices in Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalwari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj. Category II covers Surkhet and Dang, while Category III includes Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal.
